It is far easier to love someone else than to love yourself, in my opinion. But it is crucially important that we give the same love to ourselves that we give to others. This article may come off as a bit conceited, but I promise that is not the intent. The whole point is to put aside our self-destructive, non-useful (unuseful?) thoughts of ourselves, and remind us to give ourselves the love we deserve.
Alone, looking across the pasture, swept by a sense of tranquility. A single cloud which blocked the sun begins to drift every so slowly, exposing a glorious beam of sunlight. On a day when I needed it most, that subtle reminder proved once again, that her radiance abounds. And in that moment, the moment is all there was. Stillness, silence, solace. Beauty in every ray of sunshine.
The cloudy skies begin to yield.
A once-forgotten hope is again revealed –
Melting the dew as she kisses the field.
Today, her radiance abounds.
In the moment when you are teetering, right on the edge of all that is good, and all that is bad. Remember all those who love you, and all those you love, even those you may not yet know.
Teetering, teetering, on the edge of despair.
On this precipice I stand so high.
Breathing, breathing, this heavenly air –
So drunk on this bliss I could fly.
Flying, flying, weightless I feel.
